We went off to the launch yesterday at the Royal Pavilion in Brighton of the Dr Blighty project Educational Learning Toolkit we created for the London based organisation Nutkhut in 2016 and 2017.
We were pleased to see this newly finished learning toolkit which is available for Brighton and Hove schools (Key stages 2 & 3) to learn more about the history of Indian Soldiers in the city during WWI.
Finally! Our Community Interest Company paperwork has come through.
Strike a Light- Arts & Heritage are now officially a recognised Community Interest Company with Companies House.
After a long delay, Strike a Light’s four Directors are off out for dinner next week to celebrate!
Strike a Light – Arts & Heritage is hosting a series of four puppet making workshops in May and June run by talented puppeteer Fran Malone from Herringbone Arts.
Book your place here!
Her Majesty the Queen turns 91 on 21 April and so to mark this event I am looking back to a day in her younger life when she visited Preston Manor. When I give guided tours of the house people are always surprised by this fact, royalty being more associated with the Royal Pavilion.
As part of The Orange Lilies – Brighton & Hove in the Somme project, we’ll be involving children and teachers of local primary school Middle Street Primary School in our explorations of the city during the Somme in 1916.
Two days left to book your place on our upcoming course (starting this Thursday) – Remembering Together – a Life History Book Course. We have a couple of places left if you’re interested in joining in.
