We have set up a collection of free webinars exploring diverse aspects of the 1921 census and our findings, with a focus on Sussex people and places.

The webinars

  • Jewish Sussex in 1921Wed 8th June 10-12pm Historian Dr Diana Wilkins will use the newly published data from the 1921 census to share research of Jewish history in Sussex; and present the results at this session to help you use the 1921 census data to research your own topics (e.g. family history).

  • Sussex 1921 – Exploring the 1921 census (Research, Resources and Case Studies) 15th July 10-12pm This is the last of three free webinars from Strike a Light – Arts & Heritage exploring aspects of 1921 Census. In this online session, we will again be led by Dr Diana Wilkins, exploring life in 1921 Sussex. We will be looking at case studies of key groups and characters in Sussex at that time, along with related research tips and ideas for your own exploration into themes, families and houses during the 1920s.

Research Open Day

‘Meet up and chat’ from 10.30 am – 12.30 noon with local historians and advisers who will introduce some practical methods and creative ideas to help you create your own personal exploration of the census.

  4. Led by access and inclusion support
