Strike a Light – Arts & Heritage offers both in-house professional training services, and also dedicated training courses in oral history, reminiscence and more, which are tailored to the needs of your project or organisation.
Through our training sessions, we enable you and your staff, freelancers or volunteers to share life stories and experiences, whilst exploring heritage and local history through creativity.
If you work with older people and would like to learn how to provide them with our reminiscence and activity sessions, Strike a Light offers bespoke training courses for groups, staff and volunteers throughout the year. We are also happy to provide tailor made training specifically for your groups in a location of your choice.
Training sessions:
- Reminiscence Training
- Dementia Awareness Training

- Remembering Together: A Life History Book Course
- Creative Reminiscence
Strike a Light delivered a series of reminiscence workshops with elders and people living with dementia as part of QueenSpark Books’ Archives Alive project. They were unfailingly committed, creative and professional, and enhanced the programme in terms of the levels of engagement and creative output from community members alike
