Strike a Light has been job shadowing Ragroof Theatre this summer in the making of their new production about boxing ‘Gloves On’, thanks to an Arts Council bursary. It’s a wonderful blend of oral reminiscence, history of boxing clubs and great performances set in a boxing ring, which changes with each performance according to the venue. The production with 5 performers, has been touring all over the place and some notable shows were set outside at the Paradise Gardens festival as well as in a boxing club in Canning Town, London, where the smell of sweat and the ambience made for an electrifying show promenading the audience through the whole venue.
