Fabrica – Objects of desire event

IMG_1332We had a lovely day on Thursday 12th September for Strike a Light’s Heritage Open Days event at Fabrica gallery in Brighton recently. It was entitled Objects of Desire and looked at objects we own and hold dear, but which have no intrinsic value.

We had a wide array of creative activities throughout the afternoon at the gallery including reminiscence and skiffle music from Anna Sin and the JukeBox Bandits, drop in workshops with artists Jane Fordham and Lulu Allison, as well as a talk on objects of desire from historian Sarah Tobias. And of course, tea and cake was enjoyed by all!

You can hear more about the event on a recent Radio Reverb interview with Nicola Benge from Strike a Light and Sarah Tobias. Thanks to presenter Melita Dennett for inviting us on to the programme.

Over 100 people came to the event, and a further 40 to the evening film showing at Fabrica film club of Robot and Frank.
